Diana Blamires
I am a communications consultant working for the University of Buckingham and also for Greg Smith MP and for a school. My husband and I and the children have lived in Bucks for seven years. I would like to use my PR and education experience to help locally at this time of great change. With my campaigning background I would like to help to ensure children locally get a good education at a time when many have been severely disrupted. I’m keen to help highlight issues such as heavy traffic in villages in the media in order to do whatever I can to help to improve the situation. I grew up in the country in Cumbria and am passionate about preserving the rural way of life for us all to enjoy.

Your priority is Our priority
Championing our environment
We care about our countryside, wildlife and preserving our villages. We will ensure the new council has ambitious biodiversity and carbon reduction targets. With HS2 and other developments, such as the proposed mega-prison at Springhill and Grendon,. our countryside simply cannot sustain vast scale infrastructure programmes.
Sustainable development
Local Plans are already ambitious. But because of pressure on natural resources, public services and local infrastructure, we refuse to take more than our fair share. We will push back on accelerated growth that is not included in our local plans.
Improving our roads
An additional £5 million has been allocated by the Conservative-led council to sort out potholes across the county and what’s more the Conservative council is doubling the budget to clear gullies to help prevent excess water on our roads. Rural roads have taken a beating this winter and we’ll petition directly on your behalf to ensure extra funding is spent here.
Supporting rural business enterprise
We will champion the diverse and rurally based businesses in all the employment sectors to ensure they have a voice and are aware of any grants or government support.
Protecting our communities
We will work with the Police to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and importantly speeding Together, we present a unified and strong voice to ensure greater clout in the decision-making process to represent your views from the Wing Ward.
